Ted's Tunes has been asked a lot of common questions over the years and these
are just a few.
Q. Do you dress appropriately?
A. Absolutely!
Q. What kind of music do you have?
A. We carry all genres of music from the 30's and 40's up till last week.
Q. What kind of equipment do you use ?
A. We use professional, commercial grade sound reinforcement.
Q. Do you take requests? The most often asked question!
A. "yes!", while
some services don't.
However, some brides feel they must provide a complete list of songs to be played at their wedding. This is a lot of work and absolutely not necessary nor advisable because we'll
also get requests from the floor
Q. Will you provide me with the names and telephone numbers of previous clients that I
could speak to regarding your service?
A. We'd love to but doing so would contravene the Canadian Federal Privacy act, so I'll do better
than that! I'll show you on request unsolicited handwritten testimonials signed by previous clients that we've collected
over the years. (There's a lot!)
Q.Some DJ companies post all their referrals on their site and you don't.
A. I feel that actually seeing an unsolicited handwritten document has more impact that typing in
whatever you want on a web site.
Q. Do you provide a contract?
A.Absolutely; we send our clients contracts that they return signed with a deposit to hold their
date.
Q. Will you start early and play our ceremony music and provide PA?
A. We're asked this quite often and the answer is ; absolutely, if available.Ask about our rates
on this.
Q. Will you act as our MC/Host for the evening?
A. No problem; do it all the time; no charge.
Q. What are your rates? Why are they higher that what my friend's friend said he'd play it for?
A.Firstly: We offer flat rate packages and competitive hourly rates with no hidden extras
added. No obligation quotes are available on our " Client Services " page.
Secondly: We are a tax paying professional business for over thirty years and you can count on us when you only have one chance
to do it right.
Q. Will you personally be playing our event or will it be one of your other DJ'S?
A. Ted loves what he does and usually, but doesn't always take the first booking that comes
in.
Q. How do you keep current with all the new music when you're a bit of a relic as far as DJ's
go.
A. Good question!
We make it our business to stay current with lots of help from our teen DJ'S. The rest of the staff
are mature adults with years of experience and know their stuff,
Q. Are you licensed?
A. Yes! We are licensed by the AVLA to play recorded music in a public
venue plus we are licensed to play from hard drives as well.
Q. Who is the AVLA?
A. The short answer to that is that they're the agency given responsibility by the owners of the
rights to the music and they routinely send inspectors to halls while a dance is in progress to inspect
the music source of your DJ to make sure that they comply with all the federal copyright laws.
I know this for a fact because I've been inspected on two occasions.
Q. How do I know if my DJ is licensed?
A. Ask to see his license and,if he can't show it to you, suggest he gets one before you book, or
simply decide before hand that you're only going to consider booking with a properly licensed and insured
DJ Service.
Q. How would you like to be paid?
A. A certified cheque, cash or money order is good but you can also pay the deposit and balance on
the "Client Services" page of this website by clicking on "make a
secure payment online" or, if you bank online, you can perform an email money transfer. ( It's real slick and
fast).
Let Ted's Tunes be your music service
when you only have one chance to do it right.
